I'm not normally in the market for contemporary erotica, but Lucy V Morgan snagged me on this one with her fresh voice. It's a free read on Amazon. Go download it now. You'll devour it in less than a day.Bailey Frost and her male flatmates and their buddy Linc have a good thing going. Essentially, they treat her as one of the guys and that suits her fine. That's until her boyfriend Craig dumps her and a cheer-up night of Jagermeister and pizza leads her to confess that she's never had an orgasm during sex before. As if it's not enough, Bailey works in a wedding cake shop so is faced daily with others' relationship bliss when she's struggling to come to terms with the reasons why Craig left her.
Without offering spoilers, the rest of the story is all about how a very determined friend goes out of his way to prove that Bailey can indeed let go during a sexual encounter. What's even better is watching the relationship unfold. Yes. Morgan writes great sex scenes, but that's not what kept me reading. Morgan's dialogue is just fantastic, and it feels like I'm playing fly on the wall watching a bunch of young people interact to great hilarity. And they all *feel* like real people, down to Bailey and her pet rats.
Morgan manages to capture a ring of authenticity with her characters, which is a rare quality in this genre. For a short, hot read, I can't recommend Beautiful Mess more, and I'm keen to give Morgan's other titles a spin too.

Beautiful Mess eBook Lucy V Morgan Kenny Wright Reviews
I enjoyed the first few chapters, and then next thing you know, its over! I thought the ending sucked and was very disappointed to find out the potentially erotic parts of the book were skipped over with a synopsis chapter. What was the point of that?
In some ways it was quite enjoyable even though at first I thought the 3 guy friends were gay, then I thought it was about to be a threesome, which made me all the more confused until I realized they were all indeed straight. The whole werewolf YouTube thing I STILL do not get! More description there would have helped, or perhaps it is a British thing thats just over my head?
Either way, I would really enjoy if the author revisited these characters because Bailey is a very likable character and I felt her feelings towards the ex and new boyfriend, while super sudden, were genuine.
I was surprised to find this is an erotica novella, but it wasn't unpleasant for all that.
The storyline was typical in that the heroine is dumped by her good-looking boyfriend. Being mates with three blokes and no sex between any of them, Our Girl is embarrassed to discover that her less than exciting love-making sessions with her ex have been noted by her flatmates. However, Linc - who has fancied her from afar for a long time, steps in to.. well, no spoilers!
The characters are likeable and the whole plot is quite good fun. As an Australian, I totally understood the English language and nuances.
What I really enjoyed in the book was the pet rats! Those readers and reviewers who know me, would possibly remember that I have pet rats, so I was delighted that these naughty pets appear in this book.
All in all, not a bad read - could have been longer - but had charm!
I'm not sure what I was expecting when I read this, but what I got was a humorous little melodrama that takes place days after a break up.
Bailey's male roommates are also her best buds from University. Linc has been an add on and works with Olly, one of the roommates, to make videos for youtube. Bailey is still in the crying phase of the breakup and Valentine's Day is coming up. After having drunkenly admitted that she had never had an orgasm with a guy, Linc decides to change that.
It is a simple story told about people who have known each other for years. There is humor both in and out of the bedroom. Personally, I loved the camaraderie of the group. College friends that have gone through all the ups and downs of each others' lives. And in the corner is some unrequited love. Which might not stay unrequited.
The romance portion is mildly explicit and only takes place between Linc and Bailey.
The story was just a nice tale that made me feel all happy and tingly.
I recommend this story.
Yeah, it's not great literature, but that's not why I purchased it. I suspect that's not why you are considering it either! Sometimes I just want to get lost in a book for a few hours, not have to think to hard, have a laugh, read a little romance and maybe wipe a few tears away. This book is what I call literary junk food. I can't subsist on it every day, but once in awhile a little junk food can't hurt. So if you want to escape for an hour or so, laugh a bit and try to figure out who is zooming who - then you can't go wrong with this book. The author, Lucy V. Morgan, is British and enjoyed a little glimpse into life in a "flat" along with other Britishspeak. Jane Austen or Louisa May Alcott this is not, but tomorrow I'll start re-reading "Pride and Prejudice" being no worse for having read "Beautiful Mess." I still "heart" Mr. Darcy!
An enjoyable read that will keep you entertained as you turn/swipe each pages! Lucy V. Morgan knows how to get your attention focused on reading this laugh-out-loud story about friendship, forgetting about your ex and finding the love of your life just in front of you. And with scorching hot scene between Linc & Bailey you'll love this book even more!! If you want a quick read, this book is for you!
